Yutong Eurobus is conscious of the important role that the company plays worldwide. The company has set itself the objective of being a leading company as far as the environment is concerned in Europe and thereby in the whole world, and will endeavour to reduce pollution and strengthen the environmental consciousness of the general public.

Policy targets

One important factor in the battle against pollution is good public transport, which makes it possible to reduce the use of private cars considerably and thereby decrease pollution. We will do as much as possible to work with our customers on new solutions which are designed to entice more passengers to this mode of transport.

Yutong Eurobus offers only new, good-quality coaches and buses that fulfil the most stringent environmental demands that exist in the world at any given time.

Yutong Eurobus will look for ways to advance increased environmental consciousness amongst the general public. The company will provide grants for this issue together with information and encouragement, in association with its customers.

Yutong Eurobus will strive to get its environmental policy certified by Beluga and will maintain it with an annual appraisal and new goals in this important field.

Objectives for 2009

• For each vehicle that the company will deliver to its customers during the year, 100 trees will be planted by the company. As the first vehicles will go to Iceland, all these trees will be planted in Iceland in cooperation with our agent in Iceland, Tyrfingsson ehf., and in cooperation with forestry associations and/or forestry consultants. This objective is designed to help carbon neutralise emissions from the vehicles.

• Yutong Eurobus will hold courses for all of its staff to augment information and consciousness in the environmental field. This course will be held in conjunction with staff from the environmental certification company Beluga.

• Yutong Eurobus will encourage all its customers to fulfil Beluga’s environmental certification and obtain certification of their own environmental policy, which must be maintained annually.

• Yutong Eurobus will encourage all its customers to adopt ecodriving techniques, and by so doing can greatly reduce pollution and decrease fuel consumption considerably.

• Yutong Eurobus will look for ways with its customers to find new methods of augmenting the interest of the general public in Europe of travelling in buses and coaches.  Yutong Eurobus is open to development and modifications to its production which will mean that coaches and buses are more user-friendly than they are today, thereby increasing the satisfaction of their customers, who are of course also our customers.
